    Susan Murphy, a well-known presenter and coach, has reignited many times in her life. From retail clerk, to school teacher, to tour director, to tour operations manager, to event planner, to travel industry marketing director, to the place where she feels she belongs now (not before, she wouldn’t have wanted to miss those other stages).

    The 1st half of the day will be focused on Public Speaking and Interview Skills. Susan has spent the last 20 years working with AEC firms helping them hone their presentation and interview skills. This high-spirited and fun program begins with helping you figure out what should go into your presentation or interview. What “bait” will get that desired client or audience to respond to your ideas. From colleagues to clients, you will learn how to communicate for results. The session proceeds, showing you how to back up your intellectual bait with the physical skills that make you look as smart, experienced, and professional as you are. You will also learn how to coach your teams.

    The 2nd half of the day will be on Relationship Building and Negotiation Skills. The skills in this program are used and practiced in every other soft skill program. We can’t emphasize them in our lives enough. Whether you are managing, leading, selling, presenting, or networking, these skills are the cornerstone of success. Attendees will learn how to REALLY focus on the other person, encourage the other person to talk freely, let the other person know you are listening and understanding and change direction in a conversation. On the negotiation, attendees will learn things like how to determine the other person’s bottom line, offer options, say “no,” deal with a difficult person or group and set the agreement in concrete.

    This is not a lecture program. Susan puts you to work and guides you in practicing proven skills in your own way. This is not personality dependent. You will leave this session with a new awareness of your skills, as well as some newfound approaches to landing the big one. You will also have a terrific time. Susan Murphy is hilarious!
