    From the President

As my term as President draws to an end, I would like to thank all those that supported me – members, non-members, my firm, and especially my Board of Directors. Without everyone’s support we would not have had the year we did – with successful events, new initiatives and great attendance.  So thank you to everyone!

I’m excited to continue the transition to President over to Tiffani Evans with A M King this month.  Tiffani has pushed the Board through Strategic and Summer Planning and I believe everyone will see great outcomes from it.  If you’d like to hear more about the upcoming year, attend our “Taste of SMPS” social next week on Tuesday, August 11th (note date has changed from 8/13).

Lastly, thank you to all our annual sponsors: Sharpe Images, Logo’d Gear, snapWerx, and WK Dickson.  And also thank you to all firms who were Program Sponsors this past year.  Sponsorships allow us to control cost and do more for our membership.  Please consider a sponsorship for the 2015-2016 year; we will be releasing information shortly.

    Robins & Morton

Length of Time in the Industry: 5 years this September.

City you were born in/where you grew up: I was born in Philadelphia, PA but Myrtle Beach, SC is home. I spent my whole childhood in the sand, salt and sun. Where you live now and how long you’ve lived there: I have been living in Charlotte, NC for 4 years now and absolutely love it.

Where you went to college: Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.

Favorite restaurant: I am such a foodie so it is very difficult to pick a favorite but I would say Good Food on Montford. Great food and atmosphere.

Favorite book/or last book read: Last book I read was Cold Hard Truth on Men, Women and Money by Kevin O’Leary.

Favorite TV show: America’s Funniest Home Videos. I laugh the entire time!

Favorite movie/or last movie seen: The last movie I saw was Jurassic World.

Interest or hobbies: I love to garden, cook, travel, decorate and spend time with friends and family.

How did you get your career start? After I graduated from Winthrop University, I moved back to Myrtle Beach. Robins & Morton was building a medical office building in town and were looking for a jobsite secretary. After six months of working on a jobsite, I was hired as the Marketing/Administrative Assistant for the Charlotte division office.

First Job: My first job was working in the family restaurant. I did anything that my family needed me to do. It was definitely a team effort!

Personal Hero: My grandfather. He is a man who is hardworking, humble, family-focused and full of wisdom. I am so thankful for him every day.

Favorite Vacation Spot: Anywhere with water, great food, sun and fun!

How are you involved with SMPS?: Currently, I am just a member but I would love to see what opportunities are available to get more involved.
