January 2015

From the President

Happy New Year!

I believe that 2015 will be an exciting year for SMPS Charlotte.  We kicked off our 2015 programs with a great group of panelists yesterday discussing the retail agenda for uptown Charlotte. We also have a full-day InDesign Bootcamp at the end of the month, and are in the midst of putting together a K-12 program for February.

In addition, we look forward to continuing our Breakfast Club and Wine Wednesday; both which have been successful so far. If you have not been able to attend so far, please do! It is a great way to meet new people and/or catch up with existing ones.

In continuing with a practice we started a few years back, we will be hosting our annual Focus Groups in the near future. These are a chance for you (our membership) to share your thoughts and ideas. It is out of these groups that new initiatives are developed. So please think about joining in.

Be sure to look through the SMPS National ‘Year in Review 2013-2014’  which summarizes the year for all 57 chapters combined.

Lastly, I hope all of you will make a New Year’s Resolution to become more involved with SMPS Charlotte. We are always looking for much needed volunteers on our committees, and it is a great way to get more out of your membership. If you have an interest, please let me know.

Here is to a prosperous 2015! Cheers.
